I get bombarded with offers from various companies to use their company to handle credit card payments. I currently use Bank of America but I know that is not the best deal. Before I switch, I want to make sure that I am using the best company. Their offers are confusing, and some will give you different terms for different credit cards, some will make you pay for the machine that will process the cards, and some claim to be the middleman that all of these companies have to go through. Any experience that would help me make my decision?

Sam's club has very competitive prices if you have one near you. Because we are going with Coffee Shop Manager, we are not going to use them and are going with Payment Processing INC. PPI will meet any competitor’s prices. Because we are new I cannot offer any advice if PPI is good or bad?
Hi, This is a really touchy issue for people as a lot of this is based on rates :). Over the years I've learned that the best credit card providors will take some past bills and then show you what you would have paid with them. That should give you a fair comparision. I'd also look to see what they want to charge for the machine. If you have a POS you can integrate it directly. If not, then you can buy a used machine in most cases for less than the CC company will sell it for. I've worked with PPI (through our SP-1 POS) for many years and they are a great company. Mercury Payment systems is another great company to work with:
Jonathan Ching - PPI
800-774-6462
Bill Downey - Mercury Payment
800-846-4472

I hope this helps!

I'll have my friend Richard Oceguera respond to this. I highly recommend him. I introduced him to two of my friends who own a dessert bar here in New York and he was able to save them a fair amount of money. I've known Richard for several years and consider him to be a very good, honest, sincere guy. I endorse him 5000%.
Stay with "your" banks processing service. Once you take the leap to another service you can be so locked in that you can not get out and it will cost you a bundle. And never have one of those representatives that will be in your area come by and audit your server statment against what they offer. That gets confusing.
