They are very helpful and more then willing to talk to you about your needs and what they have to offer without high pressure or commitments to buy.
I've been talking with them for probably a year now and I will be going with them when we are ready.
Darrel-
First off, what does your accountant say about bookkeeping and software? Before consulting the board, talk to your accountant about setting up proper books. It will be invaluable in your future and money well spent now. Of course, this presumes you find a knowledgeable and skilled accountant to work with.
Once that's settled, then you can start planning for things like a POS and everything else.
Before that, get everything financial wrangled and understand the numbers before spending more because at this point, what POS system we use is of little importance to you and your business.
Don't get excited, guys... its just a 2.5 year-old zombie thread that appears to have been dug up in order to revise a past recommendation.
That said, Darrel, if you are still hanging around, what did you end up doing, how did it work out, and what would you recommend to anyone that's currently in the same position you were?
If you got the money go with ipads for registers. saves counter space and you can check your sales on the otherside of the planet (if you needed to) anytime you want. They make software to accomidate coffee shop POS... i was reading about it in Fresh Cup. -it's the wave to the future apparently! : ) Also if you have screens for menu boards you can change anything on the spot and best of all, user friendly... i love apple!
