Hi,
We are opening our first shop later in Decemeber in a brand new space(just building now) and are trying to come up with some flooring options. We are on a budget - but I guess who isn't? and I'd love to hear of any tips for flooring in a coffee house. We are looking for warm, inviting..not industrial. Has anyone heard of Kinetic tile or Kinetic flooring? Apparently is an energy returning tile that might be great behind the counter? Anyway, any help would be fantastic!

I am opening a new coffee shop soon, and am also on a budget, therefore we are just going to stain the concrete and seal it so that it is easy to clean.
Our shop had concrete floors with a black concrete dye by Ameripolish sprayed on after full cure. Customers really liked how it looked especially the way it complemented the river motif (done with Forbo Marmoleum) which ran from the front door to the order taking part of the counter. While the customers liked it, it was sure hard on me and my employees. We had mats behind the counter at the POS and for the Barista but it was still pretty punishing after standing for 8 or 10 hours. If I had it to do over again I would still use the dyed concrete in the lobby but I would probably look into cork or something else more forgiving for the service areas. One nice thing about concrete is that it cleans easily with a broom and damp mop.
