I'm going to be up in Seattle for CoffeeFest and I was wondering what the good cafes are in the downtown area. I'm looking for places that have a good mocha and a great ambiance. I've looked at the cafe reviews section, but didn't find any for Seattle in there yet.

Thanks...Dave

i think zeitgeist in pioneer square area is the most beautiful coffee house in seattle, and their coffee is quite good too. also check out bauhaus on capital hill. trabant chai house in the university district has a clover machine. caffee vita is also a place to hit.
Hope you come to visit me at Espresso Vivace in the Cascade area of Downtown. Let me know when you're gonna be in town and I will let you know when I am working!

Espresso Vivace is a must if you want to see commitment to cafe espresso to an obsessive level. I would also recommend Stumptown; they have a new place in Seattle, though they are originally a Portland-based company. Go to Victrola for sure. They have the best capps I had in Seattle. If you want a busy, college-y feel go to Zoka. They have a great setup.
you really ought to leave downtown, but i strongly recommend swinging by seattle coffee works. imagine a wall of grinders showcasing small local seattle coffee roasters. yeah. it can be kind of swamped during the tourist season (they're a block away from the market on pike street) but, if it's a rainy day, it can be a good geek-out stop.

I work at Trabant, come by and check us out... but when I need my caffeine fix, I'm always at VIctrola or Stumptown...

All delicious and wonderful, though it has been too long for me.

I'll be at CoffeeFest, I've been counting down the days and hours (10 days, 8 hours)! I've got a pretty lengthy list of cafes going, any others missing from this thread?
