What's going on here? It seems like the only news ever received from the SCAA is on random forums (i.e. Coffeed, CoffeeGeek, BX), instead of any press releases actually from the SCAA on their website. They seem to chime in after they tell someone something and that person asks for permission to release it. What? Why can't the SCAA just release us all details? . Are they not willing to make public press releases? The last "news" update was from beg. of October. Plus, Regionals aren't on there yet either. With the huuuge change in board members lately, it would seem that there would be a renewed interest in updating things and keeping the SCAA an informed unified group. But as of right now, it seems to the contrary. Anyone know what's going on???

Annd. the BGA too. I like supporting baristas and furthering the industry. So I wanted to check out the BGA website and see if I could help out by working/volunteering to further the guild designed for baristas. So I started looking. Couldn't find anywhere to read about volunteering. So I looked into the part about membership. I found it hard to commit myself to the membership for reasons that it wasn't worth it to me. The "membership perks" included things that I already get by staying involved in the community. I don't understand this...Again,...what's up with all of this?
