Hey! I was told that through this social network for baristas I would be able to have the opportunity to do an exchange to cafes around the world. I am wondering how that process comes about and if anyone has done it. I am looking for suggestions or ideas. I want to travel and including coffee into it seems like a dream come true. I am steadily learning and want to continue. My latte art is coming along and I am getting more and more comfortable on any machine. Feel free to add me and have good convo on any subject.

Try first listening to the bX podcast with Christopher Nicely, who did an exchange in Puerto Rico. Basically, this site is a great place to put the word out, and then you can work out the logistics with a cafe that may want to host you for an exchange.

Posting your experience, etc. is a good idea as well. Good luck!

Hi JJ. There are plenty of members from outside of the USA on this site- a number in Australia, NZ, Singapore and Indonesia for example. Have a look around, network with a few of the members in countries you are interested in working in. In many cases working in these counties will require work permits to be arranged, so owners would be keen for some kind of time commitment from you in order to cover costs.
