Hi. I'm doing a story on coffee and the outdoors for a website called adventure-journal.com. It will be comprehensive about brewing equipment, from lightweight French presses and beyond, but that's only part of the story.
My assumption is that true coffee lovers will read the piece. Yes, on longer trips when weight is critical many outdoors folks will skip "real" coffee and just pack instant.
But if you're going for just a few days you'll likely desire something better, and I want to also list at least 10 roasters whose product is worth mail ordering on its own merits, for home and beyond. Ideally we're talking about companies that support the outdoors either through charity, or by sponsoring cycling teams or other athletes.
There are a lot on the cycling front, but I'd love a show of hands from said companies, especially because a google search is somewhat random and doesn't necessarily give me the relationship between the roaster and outdoor sports/athletes. Anyone who responds whose company fits that description, please tell me what you're doing for the outdoors/athletes and we can further the discussion.
If you could respond to this post but also to my email that would be great: michael@adventure-journal.com
Thank you,
Michael
