I've spent quite some time researching the actual cost of a coffee bar/retail counter, and it looks like we've found what we're going with. I'm curious though, what kind of bar/counter did you pick (number, material, etc) and how much did it run you?
We're looking at $6500 for a pretty unique one. Reclaimed wood panelling, oak counter tops, steel shelving and frame. Custom built in 3 pieces.

We did a poured concrete bar. Very unique and indestructible. Don't need to worry about heat burns or anything else. Can't remember the price but way under every other option in that kind of look.
Honestly, you've told us not enough for any sort of determination about the cost. Dimensions? The price doesn't sound out of whack but if it's good for you then it's a good deal.
It would help if you described the shape. Is it one long counter/bar or something with angles, curves, whatever.
For what it's worth, I built a 35 foot long bar in an odd shape

I used wood that I already owned for the top and framing of the customer facing front.
Total additional cost was about $250 additional for framing materials and another $500 for labor (includes planing and facing lumber as well as actual construction).
It was built as the bar for my soon-to-open nightclub. It is strong enough that a couple of 250+ pound guys can stand on it.
