Hi guys,

I'm Lorenzo, I'm 31 yr old, I'm from Belgium.

I would like to open a Café and I'm wondering if this business would

be successful in a warm weather place like Hawaii.

I'm wondering about the coffee drinking habits of the people living in such a place.

I've read something about Miami being ranked top 5 of the most coffee addicted places.

So, it seems the weather doesn't really affect the coffee consumption habits of the people who live in Miami.

If somebody could share his own experience, I'd be grateful.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Lorenzo

Weather can have a huge impact on sales, but it really varies by the area of the country you're in.  Here in New Orleans, our business about halves during the summer.  But-speaking from personal experience-the profits in most of our bars and nightclubs dip too.  We're a service industry and tourism driven city, so weather definitely factors into our business.  Still, there are shops that do well year-round here.  Adaptability is key; we make cold brew in impressively large vats and mainly sell iced drinks during the summer.

That being said, I grew up in Miami, and imho a good portion of the coffee consumption there is a cultural thing.  Espresso is a morning ritual for the cuban population, and there's an impressive amount of little shops and trucks that sell cuban speed and cafe con leche.

we drink a lot of coffee in Tucson. The coffee bars here do offer ice coffee, cold brewed coffee, and ice teas. Some offer smoothies too. Must star bucks there is a line hot or cold weather.

I feel that location and foot traffic are big factors. Portland does very well cooler weather but lots of foot traffic. Never been to Miami bet there is lots of foot traffice theter too.

Hope this heleps.
