Again travelling a bit. Anyone know anything about the coffee scene around Virginia Beach and Norfolk? Anyplace in particular that I should check out for some real quality coffee? I am thinking a little about relocating to that area and may also be looking for work when that happens. I am currently the head roaster for a growing chain of (currently) five specialty coffee shops around Western New York and Southern Ontario.

One thing that would particularly interest me is whether Counter Culture has any presence there. I know Durham is just a few hours down the road, but I don't know if any of Norfolk's local shops have gone down that road.

The whole Hampton Roads area is pretty bare. There's a local roastery chain called aromas where you can get a decent cup of big batch drip brew, but you'd be better off taking your own stuff to brew if possible.

If you can make it over to Richmond, there's a shop there called Globehopper that serves Counter Culture.
