Crash Course in Drive-Thur (pardon pun)

Hello Everybody, been silent for a while, health issues... but that's another story. Anyway, have an opportunity to get a location which has the ability to install a drive-thru.

It is located on a main road, directly next to a Burger King.

Here is the kicker, the driveway(s) between BK and our potential location are about 50'. So we could have a lane, they could... and you could still drive a car in the middle.

I asked my potential landlord about them 'going postal' if they saw us install a drive-thru and he said well actually THEIR driveway is a right-of-way onto my property...

We polled the BK... sat their all day drinking root beer... they look to be doing about a thousand cars a day and a fairly decent sit down crowd as well.

So here are the questions.

Do you think being located next to a BK with a coffee drive-thru is a plus.... or a minus.

and... HELP !!! We've never done a drive-thru. Found the window, understand the construction/income/exterior sign... found some reading materials...

Please... MORE INPUT... :)

What percentage of your biz is drive-thru? Busy times?....

We do salad/sandwich/wrap... but DO NOT plan to offer them at the window as all our sandwiches are made to order. As I understand it, people have attention span of gnat at drive-thru ... so, baked goods, cold drinks, frappes and of course... COFFEE...

Many thanks in advance for any advise.

Marek
