220 electric hookups are going to be your problem. We use a GS3 for catering great shots and ok steam. What kind of places do you plan to serve?

We plan to set up on street corners in a downtown"ish" area. As well as event catering and a college campus.

I was looking into mobile coffee for awhile. For power, you need to consider how long you will need constant electricity. Then, look at the generators that are available that offer that window. I found to run a diesel operated generator for 11 hours, you need to spend about $7k. But it will give you plenty of juice to support water pumps, refrigeration, espresso makers, ice machine, and lighting.

Most of my research led to "invest" about $70k+ to get up and running. I priced vehicles that I could stand up inside with AC and heat, like a Ford van with a bubble roof, or Dodge Sprinter (used, $25k'ish - new is way too much $$). Are there toilet facilities where you'll be parking? If not, you might want to look at installing one in the truck/van.

What about a piston machine with propane as the heat source. You can theoretically do that anywhere as long as you have power for the grinders.
