Hey, just wondering who was following the politics overseas. http://www.ethiopianreview.com/content/2009/03/ethiopias-dictator-r... We've been talking with our friends at ninetyplus coffee http://www.ninetypluscoffee.com/index.php/2009/03/ethiopia-update-a... and it seems like we're in for a little bit of a drought as far as premium and boutique Ethiopian coffees go. I'm sure we all have feelings, what do you think? Does anyone know folks over there or have a better understanding of the overall political system that made this decision?

I know that Aleco at Stumptown has been closely involved and they have been doing film meet ups and discussions about what's going on there. I have not been yet, but he may be a good person to contact.
according to some of the ethiopian guys that come in my shop people have been hoarding coffee over there right now. waiting to sell it for a higher price.
Here.

There is also this thread that was started a little bit ago.

It's unfortunate that we have to give up so much for it to "maybe" get better in the future. Truly sad to see.
