Everpure CSR Residential Use ? to good or not good enough?

Anyone know why they recomend that you dont use the triple everpure csr in a home. I bought 2 units for a bar install and could not use the other one so I was going to put in in our home! does it not do enough or to much to filter the water? It seems like it would do better the a home depot filter. any help would be great.

I think that it might be considered overkill.  How does your home water usage compare to this system's capacity?

A major consideration for any filter system is maintenance cost.  Not sure what Everpure recommends, but 3M/Cuno recommends replacing cartridges every 6 months, regardless of how much of their capacity has been used. If you're up for dropping $200 on cartridges at your house every six months though, go for it.

I'd think that a better approach would be to put that filter system up for sale and buy one which had a capacity that better matched your home needs.

those little everpure in-line filters (http://www.amazon.com/Everpure-EV9100-06-Inline-Quick-Connect-Fitti...) are a better option, methinks. brady's right the big ones are overkill.

Thanks guys, I have had it to long to return it and I have looked into resale and the value is a 3rd of what I paid. yes they are expensive to replace the filters but I have found a few places that has them really cheap.

again thanks for the help, I will ponder a little more on it! I would rather use it then take a major bath on it.
