We are opening a new shop with a drive thru and are debating whether or not to have a printer next to the espresso machine that shoots the orders from the drive thru to the barista at the front counter. There is about 10 steps from the drive thru window to the machine so I am thinking it could be a real time saver since the person working the window won't have to walk over to the barista station. My partners are worried about the confusion factor. Just wondering if anyone else does this and what some of the other issues surrounding this may be. Our shop is on a main road with no real coffee shop for 20 miles, so speed is key for the window. Of course quality is imperative, but speed is important too. Thanks in advance!

Don't waste your time - go and get the secondary printer for the drive thru.  Run the printers as dupes of each other so that in case one goes down (and they will) the other can keep things running.
Thanks Jay!
