Nice!  Thanks for sharing....  but how does it taste? :)

As good as it looks!

We've just started getting it dialed in, there are a lot of parameters you can control with the Class 9 so I'll give a full review in a couple of weeks. I've got a E-Rubur on the way to replace the Super Jolly so after that goes in hopefully next week we'll really be able to tell. Our other cafe uses a E-rubur with an Aurelia and the build quality and looks of the Class 9 are much better the the Simonelli.

Looks great!

They sure look nice when they are new. I am looking forward to your comments after you are up and runnin. Good luck.

ohhh...ahhh.... Sweet machine. What made you go with the class 9 Rancilio?(besides those little espresso cup holder things)

looks awesome, i love the barista lights.  i haven't installed one yet even though I have been recommending the classe 9 to customers for awhile now

Dustin,

We went with the Class 9 for a number of reasons. Rancilio has an excellent reputation for quality they have been long known as a workhorse of a machine. Aesthetically the machine is impressive and makes a good centerpiece on a bar. The new features of the Class 9 contributing to very good temperature stability and recovery times along with the soft infusion make for great tasting espresso. Rancilio USA is headquartered just outside of Chicago so it's 1 day UPS or a short drive in a pinch to get parts if necessary.

Thought I'd update this a bit after living with the machine for a while. We have been very pleased with this machine. Its been rock solid and is very stable during a rush. Really exactly what we want it a machine something that is consistent, transparent and allows our baristas to shine. steaming is excellent much better texture than the Aurelia that is on the bar in our other location. Both the Class 9 and Aurelia offer similar quality in terms of espresso. the Class 9 make a bit brighter, with more emphasis on the citrus and fruit tones shots closer in taste to what we get out of a La Marzocco machine, while the Aurelia has a bit more body with more chocolate and almost a toffee like sweetness.

We are going to Rancilio USA's headquarters on Monday to look at the Excelcius equipped machine. Really excited to see how temp profiling can affect taste.
