As a new owner of a Rancilio Silvia, I have to say I highly recommend it! Makes great espresso, and the only thing I would change is the one hole steam tip that comes with it by replacing it with the 4 hole tip from espressoparts.com, which I have on order. Also, it can be easily PID'd, allowing you to further make the espresso perfectly consistently. It's my vote!
I also could have bought any of those machines years ago when I decided to get a home machine. I picked up the Silvia and it's been a loyal work horse for about 4 years. Less changing the gaskets and the addition of a PID I've had to do no work on it. It does produce a really great shot however like all the other machines in this price range the whole steaming function is a bit of a pain compared to commercial machines. Don't get me wrong it does steam great when warmed up to do so my complaint lies solely in the lack of instant gratification.

All are pretty good choices but in my opinion Silvia is the best choice for sure.

It is a painful price to pay but don't skimp on the grinder. Get a good burr grinder... A bad grinder will hurt any machine's shot performance.
Thanks a lot Dave and Jason looks like the silvia won !!!
