ok, is i was competing 100x and won some, first is you and your knowledge...
but most important is, competitions are not as working in the caffe...
so forget all your moves and how good you are and train in the way judges wants you, read and learn the rules and try to contact some judge and go over sheets with cose what we read and whats actually meaning of rule it self is so different. i found that me as competitor was reading rules diff than i should, so i stoped with competing and went to judge and judges calibrations for wbc and nationals etc...
so diff than barista thinking...
so first, contact some judge, train as a robot, judges wants you constant in every way and part and then...find a great coffee cos sensory points are BIG!!!
forget big commercial brands, you need a roaster behind you...
once again, competitions are now days formula 1, you need a team behind you, its not anymore barista him/her self....its a team championship
and with all that, you can win
all the best
thx men..now i know about wht have to include...and wht about the music ? wht do u think agood trucks for your presentation?
my way is this, forget long mixes and traditional music etc...and also, this is not d.j. championship....
make your own mix of your favorite music that is making you work relaxed and listen now;
make your music to tell you in exact time you are in the competition; like first song is long like 5min so you know how much ou are talking to judges and when you are finished with espresso, at the time you go in to making cappuccino it starts new song....
do you have an idea of what i want to go with you???
total controle...
as for my music, i was making on my own with the friend on computers and keyboards and computered woice was telling me 'cappuccino' when i suposed to deliver cappuccino to judges...
also, your music cannot be metal or offending people...
ah, the main stuff. judges dont listen to music mostly, maybe they hear the beat and move their legs that is nice but music is for your ears only....
so enjoy...
