Bry mentioned a very interesting and thought provoking video presentation this evening found here:
http://brewtasterepeat.wordpress.com/2011/07/13/wet-grinding/

At first after Bry left found this link
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1750-3841.2010.01822.x...

which only had the abstract to the article which prompted the video. They wanted $708 subscription to access full article!

Just noticed below David's video presentation a link to the full article.

Thanks for sharing this. Fascinating piece... Glad someone looked into this, as the concept sure seems to have potential.

I briefly played with something like this several years ago... though my equipment was limited to blenders (carafe and stick), so my results were not encouraging. They were also so messy that I never did any followup tests. His Skerton rig was a great solution - finally a submersible grinder!

Thanks again for sharing this.

This is a great video. Im trying to figure out how you could "wet grind" with hot water and not lose any heat. I guess it would have to be a totally enclosed system?

In my brain somehow bringing together a Bunn Trifecta with a grinding option would do the trick.  It would also probably eliminate the barista after a couple years, haha.

Now that the video has been out for a while, has anyone else tried experimenting with this?
