my last time out was over in Riverview in Greater Moncton and I ordered a ‘double espresso’ - the young girl came up and asked me how I like it - nice service - I hesitated, then said ‘it was ok’ - but in fact it was not very good - "I would really like to know” – “so I told her what I really thought and then asked her if she drank coffee – to my surprise she came back with a “No, I hate the taste. . .” – how can someone make a good coffee or an espresso and not drink it?

It is a sad state of affairs – we need a really good coffee shop in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada

This has happened to me in a number of places in Ontario, not uncommon given a small barista pool. I've had some very espressos pulled by such baristas, although the quality is usually mediocre. Of course, this changes when a passionate and well-trained barista is serving. You sometimes get exceptional, and usually very good.

We had a whole conversation about this following my Bridgehead review on my blog - http://blog.coffeestork.com/?p=672 .

From my scouting report, my understanding is that you best bet is TIBS in Halifax, althought that is a bit far.
Hello Michael,

I have had a coffee in Halifax (2 and a half hours by car from Moncton) but not at http://www.twoifbyseabakeshop.com/ But you can find other cafes that are 100% better than we have in Moncton.

take care
Steve
