a year ago there wasnt alot of independents and also any coffee roasters in the klang valley. so the Coffex and Dankoff took responsibility on organizing MBC. applause to them as they pulled a great show. local baristas didnt have access to freshly roasted beans 1 year back. now there are option around us.

for the last 2 MBC the beans were provided the organizers. Seems a bit odd Mavin...eh? A big part of WBC is obviously the coffee! Also I thought it was strictly against WBC rules (but I will check) for a blend to be complusory for all participants in a WBC sanctioned event?

the beans for MBC last year was sponsored by Coffex. all baristas used the same beans.

Pretty rapped that Antipodeans coffee (Merdeka Coffee) has won 2 National Barista Championships this year- well what I actually mean is Barista using Merdeka Coffee, not our own barista! Sadly no one was using our coffee in the MBC, maybe next year?
