About Me:
From our website:
John and Kerry Laird and their crew of passionate coffee aficionados offer a unique experience at the independent, self-designed, family-owned, specialty coffee house and micro-roastery, Pacific Bay Coffee Co..
The Laird’s passion for creating, finding and sharing only the best with their customers led them to design and construct most of this unique store in 2004 and that passion is reflected in the quality and variety of their extensive menu and well informed staff.
John volunteers as an espresso lab instructor at the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s annual conference and is a member of the Roasters Guild and Barista Guild. Kerry is a member of the SCAA Conference Planning Committee, is on the International Women in Coffee Alliance Marketing Committee and coordinated the 2008 Western Regional Barista Competition.
Pacific Bay’s coffee beans have origins from around the globe and are always roasted in small quantities to ensure freshness. Just ask and we’ll be happy to guide you in selecting freshly roasted beans to enjoy at home or in the cafe.
In addition to signature coffees, the menu includes something special for everyone - coffee beverages, premium whole leaf teas, micro-brewed Chai, real fruit smoothies, real apple cider, hot chocolate, refreshing, sparkling herbal elixirs and fresh baked daily pastries.
We also offer a variety of merchandise from the finest coffee and tea accessories and tools to make the perfect cup at home, to exclusive gift items from coffee and tea growing countries and pre-paid gift cards. Amid the cool colors, soothing aromas, and calming ambiance, guests at the Pacific Bay Coffee Co. also enjoy free wireless Internet access.

Hey John,
How are you and Kari doing? The WRBC is starting to build some momentum. Expectations are rising and we all cannot wait to get together for the event. Thank you, so much for hosting and spearheading a Central Bay Area placement.
BTW... have you had a chance to get over to SF for Blue Bottle's new cafe? The syphon/vacuum bar is amazing. I'm partial to the slow drip cold brew (Kyoto) style.
Hi Tony,
Kerry here (I'm the one behind our coffee graphic on Barista Exchange). We are well. John is working hard on the roastery and I've been putting in lots of time on the WRBC and enjoying it. We hope it turns out to be fun event for all - and we're glad Barefoot in helping with the pre-training event on March 1. The website will be live in the next few days so you can get all of the scoop there www.wrbc2008.com. Once I have some postcards and posters will you help get them out on the street to regional cafes that are on your paths? We haven't been to Blue Bottle yet, need to soon!
Nice to meet you. I`m working on a new venture to promote the barista profession and the consumption of specialty coffee, and I would be very grateful if you could give your opinion about it. If possible, please let me know where I can send you an email.
Yes, I was planning on all three days do you need help? I will have a couple of our cafe managers with me as well and we can all help out some way. Tina
Thanks for the invite...Walnut Creek is where I grew up in the 1960's and Berkeley provided an interesting local grounds to grow further! Next time hope to see you.
Hey John and Kerry! Im glad I got to meet you guys out in Long Beach. Hopefully I can make it to this years comference as well and the USBC. I won't be competing but helping out our guys that are. Ya know, if you have some spro layin around that you might think someone in Kansas might like to try, well, I would be happy to take it off your hands (wink wink).
