barista, manager, barista trainer, home barista, consultant

London, England
How many years have you been in the industry?
6
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Up until recently I managed a cafe within a busy exhibition venue. We have a 4gp La Marzocco Linea on the bar and can produce anything from 200 to 2500 shots per day. Training baristi in our cafe taught them speed and volume skills which can only come from being thrown in the deep end! I was one of 2 barista trainers and also my company's only competing barista - I got through to the semi-finals of this year's UK barista champs, placing 12th in the UK. I can teach speed & volume skills as well as basic barista essentials, plus National Barista competition techniques.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Seattle, not too fussy really.
About Me:
I've been working as a barista, cafe manager and trainer for the last 6 years. Competed in the last 2 UKBC and managed to get through to the semi finals and finish 12th in the UK this year. I'd love to concentrate solely on perfecting barista techniques and not have to deal so much with all the other things that come along with managing a cafe!
About My Company:
We are an independent contract catering company - our site is the only commercial venue we operate. Our focus is mainly on good quality food, made from scratch with quality ingredients and that carries through to our coffee. All our baristas are trained to the same standard to guarantee a great cup every time.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
meeting like minded baristas who are equally passionate about what they do

What do you have in mind? Maybe i can help you, and give a suggestion, this year my improove was not only with hank, but also helping and preparing my team, there where four of us, and I help then with the signature beverages, and preparations for presentations, what they would say and dress...
For example for Yara's signature beverage, she was thinking to do something like a cappuccino with pineapple and goat milk with nuts all with organic ingredients. It wasen't that good, so I said to her to try other thing because that was horrible, and she was the winner for the best signature beverage last year, everybody was hopping for something incredible for Yara's, in other words we developed (what we called coffee dark beer) espressos, grass lemon jelly, with candy of milk ( is like we called here in Brazil, i don't know if you understand ) of goat with nuts and sunflower seeds and a little of fig caramel, all that in little proportions and all in the bottle of Chantilly (cifão), and put the gas, it was donned
