If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I'm stuck in a corporate job right now, and am DYING to get back into the industry by either working for another coffee company or just starting my own micro roaster/retailer. I have some roasting experience. I love slinging coffee whenever I get a chance. I'm not great at latte art yet, but I love to see the look on a customer's face after I pour them a nice heart, leaf, rosetta, or whatever.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
LA, Portland, Seattle, Guatemala, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, ... , really anywhere there's something interesting going on.
About Me:
I love coffee enough to use my vacation time and my own money to compete, and without a deep support network. I got off to a rough start in my rookie competition season, but I'm learning from my experiences and looking forward to returning for another round this year!
About My Company:
I'd like to have a micro roaster/retailer, but I'm in the early stages of writing the business plan. I also want to create a "mobile barista" company that provides great coffee to corporate parties, wedding receptions, etc.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Pretty much everyone loves what they do, and it makes for good camaraderie. And at the end of the day, we're all friends. It's not the indies against each other--it's all of us against the Mermaid. Oh...and I really love great coffee!
