- Where are you located? ( City and Country )
- Charleston, SC
- How many years have you been in the industry?
- 4
- If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
- yes
- Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
- I'm stuck in a corporate job right now, and am DYING to get back into the industry by either working for another coffee company or just starting my own micro roaster/retailer. I have some roasting experience. I love slinging coffee whenever I get a chance. I'm not great at latte art yet, but I love to see the look on a customer's face after I pour them a nice heart, leaf, rosetta, or whatever.
- What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
- LA, Portland, Seattle, Guatemala, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, ... , really anywhere there's something interesting going on.
- About Me:
- I love coffee enough to use my vacation time and my own money to compete, and without a deep support network. I got off to a rough start in my rookie competition season, but I'm learning from my experiences and looking forward to returning for another round this year!
- About My Company:
- I'd like to have a micro roaster/retailer, but I'm in the early stages of writing the business plan. I also want to create a "mobile barista" company that provides great coffee to corporate parties, wedding receptions, etc.
- What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
- Pretty much everyone loves what they do, and it makes for good camaraderie. And at the end of the day, we're all friends. It's not the indies against each other--it's all of us against the Mermaid. Oh...and I really love great coffee!
