I've worked as a barista for the past 4 years and just love to learn about all things related to coffee, be it methods of preparing it or roasting it or coffee botany. About Me:
Im in my twentys and have had a love of coffee since I was a young teen. In the last few years I have been given the opportunity to expand my knowledge and test myself when I started to work in the coffee industry. Besides coffee I love sports and enjoy nothing more than going to watch my favourite football team Manchester United. I also love to watch rugby and follow Halifax RLFC. I enjoy listening to music and going to see bands live. Also due to a very good friend of mine I have developed a love of ............ballet!!! I FInd it qutie amazing to watch and have a huge amount of respect for the dancers who have to put so much time and effort in to doing something they love.
About My Company:
The shop I work in opened a few years ago in the sleepy town of Brighouse in Yorkshire. The primary reason for opening was the lack of a decent coffee shop in the town. there was one, A "Merrie England" and anyone who knows of this little chain knows how awful the coffee they serve is.
We serve espresso based beverages at the moment although I would like to see us start offering single origin coffees from around the world in the next few years. We currently use a blend prepared for us by Coopers Coffee. The blend, named after David Coopers son, is Louie Mio.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The passion of my fellow barista's
