  • Corey

i guess i better start putting money away for that.

How does the "exchange" exactly work?
  • tommy b

Excellent. I think we're heading to StL to watch some of the Midwest BC in a few weeks. Maybe we'll stop in on the way to and/or fro.

We'll look forward to showing you around our place as well.
  • tommy b

I can look out our back door (on South Street) and see Nonna's. It's about 30 steps, give or take. Two of the owners hang out in the shop quite a bit.
  • Rachel Jean

Let's talk. We've been threatening to get our music offerings kicked off for a while now. We're over due!
  • Laurie Criger

It's been a crazy couple weeks! I don't always get a chance to check my email every day. I haven't had time to check out your website either. I will try to do that soon. Having to travel for supplies today (what a hassel!) My website still needs a lot of work. My son is taking a graphic design class this semester and that is supposed to be his project. How's business?
  • Hugh Mooney

Ok, Ken, great questions. I'm new to the coffee world. My website is new - I've been offering "roasted to order" coffee for about three months. It is not yet what I would call successful - but haven't expected it to be. It doesn't happen overnight. It's a very tough road. I'll be re-evaluating my marketing program in three months increments. I only got involved in home roasting this past December.

Here is my take on setting up a website to sell, "whatever" - Go to GoDaddy.com, check out their Quick Shopping Cart program - it's very affordable. You'll want to set up a PayPal account - it's the best way to accept payments (from a cost standpoint). With the basic Quick Shopping Cart, which is what I have, you can offer 20 items for sale and customers can pay through PayPal with credit cards.

In my opinion, if you want to get your "feet wet", GoDaddy might be a reasonable option. There are most likely other options available but this one has worked for me.

Let me make this suggestion: Go to my website (www.thecoffeecorral.com), click on a couple of different selections, add them to your shopping cart and see how the system works. You might even want to process an order to see how the entire process works (shopping cart process, email order confirmation, shipping notification etc.) to see if it meets your needs. Click on the March Madness Special, you'll only pay for shipping and handling fees - $5.60. Hey, if you're a coffee lover - you'll really like this Kenya AA.

I invested about $100 in buying coffee, and related items, from other websites to learn how their orders were processed, how it was packaged, the communication etc. Spend a few bucks to see what others are doing.

Excuse my ignorance - what is a cake truffle?

    Lot's of luck...

    Hugh

Sure. It's (870) 743-3218. I'm sure it goes without saying, I may or may not be able to talk when you call. Depends on how busy we are at the time. Look forward to talking with you.
  • tommy b

No way, Dude.... it's a collector's item. It's going straight to Ebay!
  • tommy b

Yeah, "curious" is a good word to indicate how we're approaching this. I don't even have an opinion just yet..... still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor. In the end, it still really all comes down to the quality of the coffee. Hopefully this will somehow work out to be good for the entire industry.
  • Bel Townsend

There's a Lebanon in the US?
  • Bel Townsend

Hmm.. we'll I'd love to go, always fancied Guatemala (hot chocolate too!), but the flights are ludicrous from the UK - I'd have to find one which DOESN'T stop over in the US for various reasons, which will cost me even more no doubt. Its a choice between an £850 flight via Spain and Mexico, or a cheaper, but 27 hour flight London-Toronto-Mexico City-Guatemala.... eeps.
More to the point though, I am actually heading out to Nicaragua in November and Costa Rica in January, for my coffee-research at the university. The uni are paying for the flight - woohoo!! So if you guys organise any trips then, I can border-hop and meet you there actually in guatemala maybe! That would be amazing!! (I'm away from home and husband for four months, so company would be great!).
How serious are you about going? How serious do you reckon the others are?
  • tommy b

Killer! When does the transition take place? Looks like some major traffic right out your front door. What type of interior space/seating will you have now?

We're excited for you guys & looking forward to checking out the new space.
  • Rachel Jean

what! we've been writing each other but that's about it. I just got back from cali on a fire, is sharons health not so good? I'll try and write them or call soon. What happened?
