Profile Information:

What is your position in the coffee industry?
barista, barista trainer
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
Los Angeles, CA, USA
How many years have you been in the industry?
5
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I have just begun competing and I'm fascinated by the variety of techniques out there. Although I don't yet believe there is "one perfect tamp", I am looking for the one that works best for me. I love trying and tweaking new methods. I believe this barista generation will be the trailblazing trend setters to carry our profession to a higher level of respect - and compensation. I'd like to be an innovator in the field.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Anywhere great coffee is made or grown. I certainly want to travel to an origin country at any available opportunity. In the immediate future, I need to spend some time in the Northwest, and I am very interested in doing an exchange in Seattle or Portland. I would need to exchange with someone who is also on the trainer level and would be able to take over my duties of training new hires and overseeing quality in our six locations.
About Me:
I am an actor, writer and filmmaker. I am currently working on producing "BARISTA!" a documentary series on the barista profession. I have established a website, TheCoffeeNetwork.TV which is devoted to the coffee industry as a whole.
About My Company:
I work as the Barista Trainer for Groundwork Coffee Co., L.A. County's largest organic coffee roaster. We have 6 retail locations and are committed to our motto, "Coffee, Tea, Community".

My entertainment production company is called Soldaderas Subiendo, which translates to Women Soldiers Rising. Our mission is to create works written, directed or produced by women with stories featuring women in roles of leadership, survival and empowerment.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The flavor of the people and the jolt of the caffeine.

    Hi Lita,

Nice to meet you. I`m an argentinean barista, working in a non-profit venture that involves a overland-trip through several producing countries ... and can use some tips in producing a documentary.

    Best regards,
    Federico
