Thanks Aaron! The competition was a lot of fun. It was great to see your comrad Mr. Jensen. I hope to swing thru DC this spring, it would be great to see you both again!
They are indeed French roasting, cheese munching and skinny--everybody looks like a hipster. I haven't actually seen a French press yet though, I guess I'll have to look harder. As much as the bad coffee burns my heart and soul, the unpasteurized cheese is basically the holy grail of dairy products...even though I know you have a soft spot in your heart for extra dry steamed skim milk.
Hi Aaron,
Thank you so much for helping us out at the jam, I dubbed your station the "cool kids" station and you captain of the flock. I forgot whose photo it is but there is a great one of you and Devlin where you look immensely excited to taste some espresso.
Are you heading up to Ithaca this week?
I had a nice chat (and an americano) with Julia and Faith this morning.
I think we've reached a terminal mass for a jam. I suggested that Spruce is just the right size...
Or my place, as I've got a BBQ and a bigger fridge!
hey there... i'm competition preparing... i rebuilt my sig bev and started to feel good and ready and then attack of the buzz killer allergies. i can't taste a damn thing! if you wanted to come down one day before usbc and guest mock judge i wouldn't argue. in fact, i'd probably buy you lunch.
Aaron!
The Kills are playing at Johnny Brenda's Saturday. Do you like loud music, as I suspect you might?
Also, My buddy hairbender is in town. He brought his buddies Tega and Tula.
I seriously don't mean to be, it's just that I've been shooting these past 3 weeks for a huge project plus I just started my NEW COFFEE JOB. It's interesting. I was planning on stopping by tuesday or wednesday to pick up some real coffee for some of my co-workers to share with me on shift; and to catch up. Let me know if you're going to be around.
The coffee bar at DiBruno's. They dragged their feet moving me there until I had a few drinks with some of the management and coffee came up. Thanks to the extensive knowledge you've imparted upon me they had me transfered 2 days later. Now they have me redesigning the bar and training their employees... they needed help badly. I mean I'm really only offering my base knowledge and it's a vast improvement.
Don't worry about it. I totally eat lunch at abraco and forget to pay all the time. Good luck with your shop, its always exciting when a dedicated barista opens up their own shop. Keep me posted on how it shapes up. I definitely have to visit philly when you open.
This is Mike from Kaldi's. I'm on my way out to Philly tomorrow to play a show with my band, VIA DOVE. We're going to try to come by the shop either tomorrow early evening or Friday morning.
We're playing down the street at Dr. Watson's tomorrow (Thursday) night. If you come out, I'll buy you and anyone you bring a beer. It's our first time in Philadelphia and we need as much support as we can get. Check out our music at http://www.myspace.com/viadove
Aaron! I hope all is well. I just had a couple appear in my roastery to buy coffee after hearing about us from you whilst visiting Philly for a wedding. Thanks for spreading the word!
Hope all is well with you, and that we get to catch up at some point soon.
as my recently updated barista exchange profile states- the phoenix done risen. It's eagerly awaiting your visit and approval...which I guess makes it sound more like a puppy.
Aa-ron, I miss you, also I want my fucking origin pic from the CCCDCTC, I need a new barista exchange/facebook foto...duh. Also, I can't wait for you to come back to the District; I know you don't like crossing the river, but you're gonna have to deal with it. Also, there's a DC latte art throwdown on Thursday, I'm not sure if I should compete...any advice, after all, you birthed me.
So, I'll be in Philadelphia next weekend to get some furniture from the rents, but I want to stop by Spruce St on Sat if you'll be there, what hours are you working?
