Thanks buddy!! I will be at Murky in real life in just a few days! See you in DC!
  • Alex

Thanks Aaron! The competition was a lot of fun. It was great to see your comrad Mr. Jensen. I hope to swing thru DC this spring, it would be great to see you both again!
  • Tim Noble

I'll see you at the Arlington Murky on Friday night for the fierce latte throwdown... and free beers.
  • Mike Sala

They are indeed French roasting, cheese munching and skinny--everybody looks like a hipster. I haven't actually seen a French press yet though, I guess I'll have to look harder. As much as the bad coffee burns my heart and soul, the unpasteurized cheese is basically the holy grail of dairy products...even though I know you have a soft spot in your heart for extra dry steamed skim milk.
  • Greg Scace

    Yowdee!!

I had a good time Friday! Are you guys gonna keep those classy window treatments up, or are you gonna change them daily to keep the news frexh?
  • Jason Dominy

aaron ultimo, just a shadow of a man. but a good man, he is.
  • randy

i think the cho is baristaechange's answer to tom. he's everybody's friend.
  • Katie Duris

i just got a book on the science of cooking. i hope it helps in our hunt to understand extraction.
  • Phil Proteau

Thanks for coming up to our Jam and running station #1, or #3, depending on where you start counting. I hope your visit was fun for you. See you soon.
  • Phil Johnson

    boo.
  • Gerra Harrigan

    Hi Aaron,
Thank you so much for helping us out at the jam, I dubbed your station the "cool kids" station and you captain of the flock. I forgot whose photo it is but there is a great one of you and Devlin where you look immensely excited to taste some espresso.
  • Jesse Gates

hey man, it's been a few.

    still movin this way?
  • Mike Sala

Yo Aa-ron, how's DC, anything new with the murk? Any news on Philadelphia?
  • Phil Johnson

Dude, neti pot? It just sounds...out of the ordinary. Explain to me the benefits thereof. If you would. Sil vous plait. Por favor.
  • Jesse Gates

hey man, I'll see you for sure. I gotta check that place out, spruce st I mean...

ps. neti pots scare me. in one nostril, and out the other? no way man. keep your soothing water away!
  • Phil Johnson

If I could post on coffeed, I would have posted and asked about it there. Just caught it during my afternoon "coffeed-checking-time."

    Dumb luck.
  • Emily Nicole Schumacher

Hey! I'm a barista at Spruce Street, can't wait to meet ya!
  • Mike Sala

Nice, Aa-ron. Keep me posted; I think I'm going to stay in the land of the French roast for the summer, but I need a new visa, so I'll bee in DC and Philly for awhile in April/May. Obviously I'll need to check out the new salon du café.
  • Katie Duris

pour over or hario? i hear that is the question.
  • Katie Duris

what i meant to say was, i heard aaron ultimo is the devil. sorry for the confusion.
  • trish rothgeb

When I come back to DC, you won't be there. Sad, but a true coffee star cannot be held back from superstardom.
    Stay in touch!
  • Nick Cho

KatieD shed a tear for you.

    You're missed, bro!!!
  • Tim Noble

Are you heading up to Ithaca this week?
I had a nice chat (and an americano) with Julia and Faith this morning.
I think we've reached a terminal mass for a jam. I suggested that Spruce is just the right size...
Or my place, as I've got a BBQ and a bigger fridge!
  • Mike Sala

So Aa-ron, I hope the new shop's going well. I'm going to be in Philadelphia from 4/28-5/2, I plan on checking out the new digs.
  • Katie Duris

  • Rob Tuttle

I was kind of hoping you would fly in for the Throwdown! :-)
I hope things are going well...
  • Brian Honsinger

I seriously don't mean to be, it's just that I've been shooting these past 3 weeks for a huge project plus I just started my NEW COFFEE JOB. It's interesting. I was planning on stopping by tuesday or wednesday to pick up some real coffee for some of my co-workers to share with me on shift; and to catch up. Let me know if you're going to be around.
  • Brian Honsinger

The coffee bar at DiBruno's. They dragged their feet moving me there until I had a few drinks with some of the management and coffee came up. Thanks to the extensive knowledge you've imparted upon me they had me transfered 2 days later. Now they have me redesigning the bar and training their employees... they needed help badly. I mean I'm really only offering my base knowledge and it's a vast improvement.
  • Sandy Hon

hey you! am i gonna see you in atlanta next month for a little training/training? hmmm????
  • Sandy Hon

    Sweet!!! See you there!
  • Aida Batlle

    isn't it D E L I C I O U S!!!!!
  • Jordan

Don't worry about it. I totally eat lunch at abraco and forget to pay all the time. Good luck with your shop, its always exciting when a dedicated barista opens up their own shop. Keep me posted on how it shapes up. I definitely have to visit philly when you open.

    Cheers!
  • Katie Duris

i think i left atl without saying goodbye... it was nice to see you.
  • Ben Helfen

Any time, dude. I was happy to do it. Sorry i seemed really grumpy on Monday, by the way! It had just been a long couple weeks.
  • Mike Marquard

    Aaron -

This is Mike from Kaldi's. I'm on my way out to Philly tomorrow to play a show with my band, VIA DOVE. We're going to try to come by the shop either tomorrow early evening or Friday morning.

We're playing down the street at Dr. Watson's tomorrow (Thursday) night. If you come out, I'll buy you and anyone you bring a beer. It's our first time in Philadelphia and we need as much support as we can get. Check out our music at http://www.myspace.com/viadove

Hope to bump into you in the next few days.....

    Cheers,

    Mike

as my recently updated barista exchange profile states- the phoenix done risen. It's eagerly awaiting your visit and approval...which I guess makes it sound more like a puppy.
  • Mike Sala

Aa-ron, I miss you, also I want my fucking origin pic from the CCCDCTC, I need a new barista exchange/facebook foto...duh. Also, I can't wait for you to come back to the District; I know you don't like crossing the river, but you're gonna have to deal with it. Also, there's a DC latte art throwdown on Thursday, I'm not sure if I should compete...any advice, after all, you birthed me.
  • Mike Sala

    Thanks, Aa-ron, you're the best.
  • Mike Sala
