If Im not mistaken you had written and article about/made reference to a deep seated passion for cigars...I lost the article so I may be way off. At any rate I was wondering if you had made any good discoveries with cigar/coffee pairings?
    Cheers

    Re: cigars
I just put a little spreadsheet together for research. Basically it involves me taking my laptop and a fresh roast down to the backroom of my local tobacconist, taking notes as I smoke my sunday cigar. I'm going to start with pairing the same regions...I'll keep you posted as to the findings. Do you have any sources for for good green Cuban coffee?

    Hi Spenser,

I`m an argentinean and I`m working in a new venture to promote the consumption of specialty grade and the barista profession. I would be very grateful if you could give me your opinion about it; if possible, please let me know where to send you an email.

    Regards,
    Federico

I wish that I could compete again this year. Moving to Philly from N.C. has tapped my resources this year, but think '09 will be my year.

Thanks for your prompt response, I sent the email.

Hi Spencer I look forward to having a cigar with you in Minneapolis. Do they have any good cigar bars there? I had a nice one in Portland the other week. It paired really nicely with the three ports I had...can't remember what the cigar was or which port it was either. Nice memory though...

Hey Man, thanks for the invite!

    Spencer,

Unfortunately, Minnesota now has a state-wide ban on smoking in indoor areas of the public. There are a few bars with outdoor seating that are cigar friendly, but that is about it.

    Spencer,
Any word on the puff and slurp social yet?
    Thanks,

Spencer! I am hurt you didn't mention me in that list of roasters for Celtic cup....Oh the pains of being the small guy .....
  • scott conary

Awesome reply! Of course part of being the small guy is that I am the marketing guy too, and have proven to be woefully inept at it!
Carrboro Coffee Company is the wholesale roastery....pass the word and I will get back to work!
