About Me:
Life is a journey, that has many paths. Mine, led me to own a coffeehouse, become a barista, and start a family; all at the same time. My loving wife, at my side, we helped create a neighborhood coffeehouse and have our first child grow up to love people and all things coffeehouse. We hope that someday soon, our other children will have the same chance.

I was thinking about trying to pour into a blender half filled with polar freeze... Could be fun... Could have nice texture...

How is life and the fam, Ray?

Good to hear. I heard there's been a bit of snow. I'm jealous. It's a hard stretch in LA to make it feel like Christmas and New Years. My holiday was great though... Spent Christmas relaxing with friends and am still spending new years in Las Vegas with my girlfriend... which is interesting to say the least. So, any thoughts on a new shop or anything?

Vancouver (BC) was a mighty fine place to spend holidays... hope to make it to your neck of the woods sooner than later.

    Cheers!

We can definitely use help. Volunteers and judges are needed, or if you want to compete...Either way, it would be great to have you out for the MRBC.

Ray - contact Mike Strumpf @ allegro if you're wanting to help out - the more the merrier - I'm thinking it will be a rowdy time for the first ever Mountain Region (aka Mr. Barista Competition).

    Oh yesh... need to practice.

Ok, so saying "no" barista skills simply implies no paid barista skills. Of course, we cup all our own stuff all the time - if that qualifies as "barista" experience. I was thinking barista referred to the ability to pour an awesome espresso creation with much flair - that's not me.

I am friends with Zach...the zach who has been working on a startup coffee roasting company. Yes, we have had some fun tasting some of his coffee as espresso.

    You know him yes?

    Ray,

would love to hang and talk shop. Have fun at Mountains...Jon Lewis should impress as always. I actually didn't make it up to NWRBC either, due to road and train closures. I will be planning to compete in Portland in March though...should be a fun event.
