Hi Jonathan, I found your pics on google. I was about as lucky a you to dig out a ducale 1g without major problems. It cost me 220€ thoug...I wont start to disasssemble the thing until spring or so, don´t have the time. I tried it out and came up with some questions: What is the level of your water in the boiler glass? It appears very low to me (almost hits "minimum") but the refill doesn´t start. Did you find a valve to empty the boiler anyway? I can´t seem to...
    Thank you for yout help

Hey, thank you for your comment. I accepted the low water level in my boiler, it leads to relatively short heat up time, so I thought it´s fine. Why did you adjust anyway? The liter or so that is in there is more than enough for our household purpose...What made you think it is too low?
Besides, the machine works fine an I am very pleased wit the results, after adjusting the presso and the pump bypass. It seems to overheat very little and wokrs just fine. Besides: It´s such a beauty...
    Grx

thank you for your reply. However, I think that the thermal balance of a hx machine is quit delicate...So I suppost if there are two machines of the same type and thy both have a relatively low water level someone had to do that deliberatley...I like how my machine heats up fast and does not overheat much. A couple of sec of flushing the gouphead while I grind and I am ready to go...So from that point of view I see no reason to change s thing. Steam is fine anyway after I first let some water drop out that´s there before I make my first stam of the day.
    Good pours,
    Nico
