About Me:
Anime junkie, KidRobot, anything cultural, the arts... love good food, drink and people...
About My Company:
Lead barista/Manager at L'Epicerie in West LA *Culver City* California. It's a French Bistro/Market/Coffee Bar right across the street from SONY studios. I love my job! Right now we are in the process of upgrading our staff and trying to establish ourselves as the neighborhood coffee shop! I'm looking to add 1 or 2 to our staff right now.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The creative energy, the people, and the pleasure of the bean
Harry- I'm organizing a chairty fundraiser for Coffee Kids. It will be in Athens on 4/14, 7pm, at the art theatre, Cine, on Hancock Ave. downtown. It would be cool if you and your coffee geek buds could make it out. We're planning to have a throwdown and watch a movie called A Perfect Cappuccino. It's only $5 and all the proceeds go to Coffee Kids.
Ouch. 1/17 is not a good relaxation ratio. I applied for that job. I think I could do it really well! I'm just volunteering right now at Red Eye to help the boss keep his costs down but it isn't paying the bills like I need it to. I have the hook up in Decatur, could move there with a few days notice. If you could do me the favor of dropping my name into the hat, I'd really appreciate it.
Next time you're in Athens, stop by Red Eye off Prince Ave- counter culture coffee through a chemex. Yum!
It was nice to meet you this weekend, Harry. I hope that my plans for world domination don't meddle with my chances of getting the gig at goats. I think that would be a great place to work.
Great to see you too! The coffee was great. I just moved like 2 miles down the road from you guys so I will definitely be seeing you around more often!
The news is Aurora...for the time being. Its a job and the people are cool. I will indeed be at throwdown, glad to hear your finally going to flex the art skills.
Definitely check out The Morning Times, Helios, and Global Village. Morning Times is the most popular shop downtown and has some really great baristas, a hip old Astoria Sibilla, and great outdoor seating. Helios is pretty much Counter Culture Coffee's flagship outlet. Global Village is run by an amazing guy who manages to know every one of his regulars in one of the busiest shops I've ever seen - he's also just introduced single-brew stations with micro-lot coffees and is planning to start roasting in-shop soon.
