Coal Creek Coffee Company is Wyoming's premier craft roaster and Coffee retailer. We have two locations in Wyoming and wholesale to most reputable cafes in the region. We are a wholesale rep for Elektra espresso machines and are developing a barista outreach program that will elevate the quality of specialty coffee throughout the front range.

Any at all.
About Me:
I began working with specialty coffee in 2001. I grew up in Vermont and was introduced to the industry through Mocha Joe's in Brattleboro. I put myself through college serving Dean's Beans in Amherst, Massachusetts. I moved to Madison, Wisconsin where I became associated with Alterra Roasters, which I served at Mother Fools Coffeehouse. I have relocated to Laramie and was lucky to find Coal Creek Coffee Company, my current employer, a quality based company in a somewhat unlikely market.
About My Company:
Coal Creek Coffee Company is located in the beautiful and historic Laramie, Wyoming, two hours north west of Denver, on the front range of the rocky mountains. Located right on I-80, we often get favorable comments from travelers bound for one coast or the other. Our coffee is craft roasted on site and shipped to customers all over the country. We recently hosted our second Cup of Excellence Party, featuring two Cup of Excellence winners prepared on our Clover coffee machine. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our service and our product, as well as ways that we can positively impact the industry as a whole.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I love the people

Looking forward to having you out for the MRBC! One of the judges is a Madisonian, he actually grew up there and then went to UW. So if any of us feel like talking about Madison there will be a bunch of us with memories.

I really hope that I do see you in Portland. Make sure to go through your score sheets and I'm sure that all of your judges will be open to discussing the scores when you get them returned. Go Mountain Region!

'Twas I indeed. I got stuck in Laramie on a little trip with my friends. We stopped by the coffee house and were shocked to find the quality that we did in what we thought was the middle of nowhere. :)

To Laramie? you got it. it might be a while before I get back out that way, but I missed the Chief Joseph Highway on the last trip and I've heard that's pretty much the only highway in the country that you absolutely shouldn't miss. I'll see you in Wyoming. someday.

Hey Jesse, looks like an interesting place, as it stands i'm off to calgary in November, however that may change as well. We just had our central regional competition and i took first, so I'm off to Vancouver for nationals, and then I'll figure out my life from there, ahaha!

Thanks for letting me know though, what is it you'd be looking for?
  • Jim Kitson

Yeah, Seattle was awesome. So many new ideas and so many new products I didn't even know existed. And so much education on the best way to do things.

I am looking for a new espresso grinder. I manage an espresso bar at a church and we need a second grinder for our decaf. It's always been pre-ground because someone didn't think it necessary to buy a second grinder but pre-ground espresso, even decaf, is horrible. So I want to find a solid grinder for not a lot of money. I don't need a top-line grinder, just a solid budget grinder.

    Thanks for the help!
