i recently relocated to olympia from pittsburgh,pa where i worked as a barista trainer at tazza d'oro. Now i'm working at the Dancing Goats espresso bar in Olympia. i'm hoping to start expanding my skills beyond espresso and brewing, perhaps begin roasting in my spare time when i'm not behind the bar. i really like to push the envelope with coffee. i like to do experiments. nerd.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
san francisco. portland,OR. western massachussetts area.,scandinavian countries, and northern europe.
About Me:
i like to get stuff done! i like making food for friends when not at work, as well as bookmaking,printmaking, fiberarts, and listening to music and playing guitar. i can often be found geeking out in portland at heart coffee roasters, in oly at sizizi's ( for tea) , at caffe vita (for americanos) and oly coffee ( for capps)
About My Company:
i work for Batdorf & Bronson coffee roasters, which is a super-rad company that really strives to be as sustainable as possible. i love working for the company and hope to learn a great deal from my work experience here at a company that has been around for over 25 years.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
everyone in specialty coffee seems to know one another. like some weird over-caffeinated, large, dysfunctional family.

    well... The cafe I'm at will be looking to get someone around september as I am leaving in October... I dont know what your looking for. Its in COllingwood around two hours north of Toronto... Super nice little town with good people and a ski hill, which is fun if you ski... i dont, but hell, its nice to look at.. lots of areas for hiking in the summer and swimming and very close to nature... If your looking for city life it may not be for you, but if you just want a change of pace for a while, maybe you'd be interested.... but we still get cold winters.... and its canada, so may be hard to get a working visa.. anyhow, its a thought

    Dominy is the dominator. I think he just sits and watches the whole internets and waits for someone to say something about coffee. Then he pounces, leaving a trail of spent grounds and steam, along with dropping some knowledge bombs on some unsuspecting baristas. A fierce force to be reckoned with.
