Sounds like a good idea. I plan to open a shop cart built upon a bakfiet after my ride. Maybe I will just stay in Alaska, though. :)

    I appreciate your support.

I saw cafe' velo after the idea hit me. I like to consider it an original idea that someone just made happen sooner. I think the business model is sound as a pound.

It is a predicament you've got for yourself. Maybe you could work something out with cruise lines, sell your coffee to the company. By the time the passengers arrive, perhaps they will have taken a liking to their new habit. Working for Red Eye has taught me that educating is difficult enough as it is. More over, generating appreciation for all the work that goes into your product through the supply chain. For the sake of business, I'd suggest having an airpot full of your best pressed coffee for your customers in a hurry. You can ask them how fresh they want their coffee to be. This is my plan for encouraging folks to hang out and enjoy the art of making coffee.

When do you plan to visit Velo? I myself am planning to stop there on my ride. Which, by the way, I am not yet on. Starting out soon enough, though.

I intend to do chemx [easy to clean] as well as vac pots and french presses. I am also considering making crepes or some other fast and easy breakfast pastry on site. I like the local idea, too. I plan to use a local roaster who does a fair job on his beans for the brew stations. However, for vac pot and espresso, I plan to rotate through selections I find from some of the bigger name roasters. This way, I support the local coffee scene as well as give it reason to improve.
