If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
One of my first jobs was working at a coffee cart in Fairbanks, Ak where I was first introduced to the varied and growing world of the coffee industry and had a bit of training with barista training with North Pole Coffee Roasters. I also worked the bar at L'Assiette De Pomegranate for a few years. I now work at a cafe in Portland, OR called Backspace. I have also headed up a fundraiser at my high school to sell coffee on to people before school started and helped to create and manage a cafe at the college I attend. Coffee has been a growing part of my life since that first job at a little cart in Fairbanks. I keep learning and being amazed about how much there is to know. And keep being enchanted by how warming such a beverage is for the soul. It brings people together, it keeps us going, it warms the body and keeps us wanting more.
About Me:
I'm a writer, mostly a poet with a passion for reading and coffee. I have a degree from a college that closed down because of poor finances and have once kayaked from Sitka, AK to Hoonah, AK on a 21 day expedition. I have curly hair, am Alaskan Native and am a recent transplant to Portland.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
the sweet fast paced tang of patience and practice
It was nice meeting you at the USBC Patricia. I hope your time here in Portland treats you well. When you stop by Coffeehouse Northwest I'll so hook you up with a free spro.
My trip got canceled, so I'm home all week with nothing to do. I don't get paid until Friday, however, so I'm broke until then. Maybe this weekend sometime?
