About Me:
Where to start...I was born in Ohio lived in Meeechagan, New Hampshire and for the past 11 years on the bluffs above Moonstone Beach at the North end of Humboldt County. I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach and puppies.

I've been a roaster for the past seven years for Sacred Grounds Coffee in Northern California. Before that I assembled furniture and before that I was a beer and wine buyer in Ohio for a large specialty beverage store where I built a 500+ SKU shrine to beer that was at the time one of the largest selections in the country. This is where I learned to taste and evaluate libations.

My lovely wife, Beth, started roasting coffee in 1997 and asked me to start cupping with her. One thing lead to another and we had a kid. Whoever says you can't get knocked up by sharing a cupping spoon (or perhaps a bottle of Flor de Cana) is lying to you.

I digress, as I started cupping coffee it simply amazed me and I was hooked!
About My Company:
Sacred Grounds was established in 1997 as a late night coffee house, now we focus on direct to customer mail order and a small number of wholesale accounts. Five of us comprise the company, all of us love coffee and travel.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
you can be a freak and no one really cares

It is funny how profit and satisfaction smell just like bacon... lavender, eucalyptus, bacon.
I shake when I see any outdoor furniture.
