About Me:: I'm new to the coffee business. I began working in a cute little shop near my home town to make some extra money back in september of 2007. Little did I know I would advance so quick. I became an official barista in January, and am currently learning as much as I can from coworkers. I'm looking to learn the art of roasting this summer and enhance my skills as a barista throughout the comming years.

Advice for a new barista? Come to the Northeast Regional Barista Competition in April (in Ithaca), even if you don't want to compete. Watching a competition is a tremendously educational and motivating experience, and you'll be able to meet a ton of great baristas. Watching last year's Northeast regional really opened my eyes to what coffee is capable of.
