If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I have owned and operated a roaster/retailer business with my husband for 16 years. We have grown quite a bit since 1994 and now have 4 of our own coffeehouses, including a coffee origins bar and a thriving wholesale micro roastery business with over 300+ fantastic accounts. At the recent SCAA show, I took the Intro. to Espresso class to get myself back to the basics and see where and how we can improve and expand our current training....as well as to reinspire myself about making great drinks! (I'm in the office too much!)
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
I have traveled to a number of coffee countries including Costa Rica, Panama and Bolivia. Would love to add Africa and Indonesia travel to the mix.
About Me:
I am passionate about my community both local and worldwide. I know that my connecting with others each and every day in a meaningfully unique way (serving a great cup of coffee or espresso beverage) makes a difference. My husband and I work together and have the gift of a 5 year old daughter who loves her coffee black and appreciates latte art.
About My Company:
Coffee By Design is a business which we started in 1994 when our Downtown had a 40% vacancy rate and our location was in the pornography district of Portland, Maine. Our business is dedicated to our community and supports the arts in particular through sponsorships, grants and donations. We are proud to have four retail coffeehouses including our origins coffee bar which is housed inside our coffee micro roastery building. We are proud to have our coffee served at select coffeehouses, restaurants, and gourmet stores nationwide.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The way it brings people together and changes their day.
