What is your position in the coffee industry?
barista
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
San Francisco
How many years have you been in the industry?
5
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Five years in the business (beginning with the great aquatic whore) Worked In two additional cafes in San Francisco.
Lots of research on my own time, including an obsession with lever machines and a small stovetop roaster.
Recently purchased a commercial espresso machine of my own and I am working on starting a small operation.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Pretty much all of them. I lived in Vienna for a few months and enjoyed the culture quite a bit.
About Me:
Obsessed with many things and addicted to travel.
I live on a boat. I ride a Motorcycle and I seldom let myself get board. I am a USF Alum but find myself having a hard time giving up the industry that put me through college.
About My Company:
Exists in my dreams and fantasies. Every time I try to start something, I am plagued by unreliable partners. Who knows, perhaps one day. For now I will just consider cafe employment as guest appearances and that will make it ok.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The endless supply of beautiful gadgetry

Hello Alan! I read about your lever passion on ChrisK's page. Just taken the plunge with a Rapallo 3 group (made also by CMA which builds Astoria). Mine is still 6 weeks away, let me know how you go with yours! Cheers from sunny Java

Hi. Please check out my latest blog entry and tell me if you'd be interested in helping to sponsor me by providing a few days work while I'm in your town. Help me accomplish my goal of riding a bicycle across the county to help promote a sense of community and a free exchange of ideas within the coffee business.

If I make it all the way to the West Coast I'm going to need a place to work for a few days. I have a few friends in your city but no coffee connections yet to help me make this vision a reality. Do you think that you or anyone you know could be of some assistance?

Salutations.

really? although the burr doesn't work so well, it maintains a stable condition. we have two of that, and we haven't found any major problem about them. however, our favorite grinder is still Robur.

Hey Alan,
We do have some SO Espresso. Working with a Brazil and Ethiopia and both are really nice. You should stop by and taste them. Also, we should talk about your cart experiment. Love the idea.
