After hours power outage notification system

Posted on August 13, 2009 at 4:38pm 0 Comments

Does any one know of or have a recommendation for some type of alarm or notification system that will let you know if there was a power outage and its duration? Last night we had a power outage and it got me thinking about how I would know if my shop experienced one as well. Thanks in advance for any recommendations or suggestions.

Tips for a Cure, Contributing to Race for a Cure to Breast Cancer

Posted on March 15, 2008 at 11:00pm 2 Comments

So, I had my first fund raiser at my little coffee bar, I challenged my customers to raise money for the Race for a Cure, to cure breast cancer. I matched the first $100 dollars of tips raised we raised a total of $233.00. It was an easy way to give back as well as a great way to connect with my customers. Many of them came up and told me their stories and thanked me for doing a little bit to build awareness and to give back to the community.

I am thinking of expanding my business to include an Espresso/Coffee cart that I can take to events around Southern Arizona. This is an area I have no current expierience and would love to hear from folks who have done this in other areas. What should I be aware of and lookout for with regards to equipment and everything else. Thanks

Nice thoughts on increasing visibility within the industry Cosmo. I'd love to do more ads in the trades, but sometimes expenses become a deterring factor. Good luck with getting set up in AZ.

Cos, Regarding the POS system{If I could do it all over again}...or pretty much anything I buy from this point forward, here is what I think. Obtain the service phone number & place a service call, tell them you are a customer, it's likely you won't get a person, you will have to leave a message. If you are satisfied with the way the call is returned & the time frame in which it is handled, tell them, buy their product. If not, tell them, tell them why you won't be buying their product. I think this a totally fair assessment of how you will actually be treated should you become a customer. Any company interested in gaining new customers will have no problem with your investigating them.
Just my .02 cents worth, good luck. Please let me know how it turns out :~).
