I recently traveled to Brazil to visit several coffee producer organizations and friends. I went to Poco Fundo and Nova Resende in Southern Minas, to Lajinha in Eastern Minas and to Venda Nova do Imigrante in Espitito Santo (a lovely town founded by Italian immigrants, many of whom arrived to Brazil to work in coffee in the 1800’s).

Poco Fundo grows one of my favorite coffees from Brazil. I visited COOPFAM http://www.coopfam.com.br/ and spent time with Luis Adauto, president of the… Continue

Hi Miguel,
I send you yesterday a friend's request but I didn't saw the possibility to write a message. I'm not on "baristaexchange" for makong friends or relations, I'm a Belgian journalist and I would like to use your pictures in a brochure for the Belgian Cooperation Agency. Send me a message on marc@piezo.be and I will explain it to you with more details. And excuse my faults, English is not my native language... :-) Thanks.

Miguel,
I sure wish I was in country. I am stuck in snowy, cold Boston! I have pending permits for my store here to attend hearings to and I cannot afford to miss them. I am still hoping to make it over the weekend, but its looking like a long shot!
Please enjoy Rwanda and give everyone there our love!

hey miguel!

i see you are an oakland res too. i am in oakland for another week, before i leave for my trip. i will be working with technoserve (www.technoserve.org) while i am in kigali. i will be a volunteer consultant, helping to build a tasting training program while i am there. the eafca conference is very early on in my trip, so i am unsure of exactly what my role will be in that if any, but either way i will be there.

on another note, i am having a going away party tomorrow (saturday) evening at my house in oakland. if you would like, you are welcome to come! it would be great to meet you before we our trips to rwanda! ill send you my phone number in an email...

MIGUEL, great to hear from you! That is a compliment! I tend to see it as an economic engine establishment for the betterment of all our objectives...."stimulate the industry starting from its growers"... There are two stores...one in the heart of the city, the other in a neighborhood, east of the city.
I look forward to seeing you there.
