Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I'm a novice barista with a lot to learn. I'm currently employed as Starbucks barista, so lack the skills that a lot of other baristas have. In regards to an exchange, I don't have a lot to offer at the moment other than a lot of passion and drive to help and learn more about my profession.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Any and all! Anywhere in Europe sounds particularly attractive.
About Me:
As stated in my skills section, I'm a novice barista with a lot to learn. I'm currently employed as Starbucks barista, so lack the skills that a lot of other baristas have. Having said that, I'd like to add that I'm dedicated to making the highest quality coffee I can, and building relationships in the coffee industry and the people who buy the coffee I enjoy creating for them. After I graduate from college, I'd like to move on a shop that can teach me what pulling an espresso shot is truly like, instead of just pushing a button. I'd like to gain all the experience and knowledge that I can so that one day, when I'm good an ready, I can open up my own specialty coffee facility. My website is currently under construction.
About My Company:
I work for a licensed Starbucks store. One day, I will have more things to add here.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The passion.

Why work fo a Licensed Starbucks?

Starbucks has a lot of controversy, especially within the professional coffee world, and I understand that fully. I'm often looked down upon by both professionals and by Starbucks baristas alike because I worked for a licensed (almost like a franchise but not quite) Starbucks store. So I'm writing this blog to clear up what my purpose is for working at such a place, and my plans for the future.

First off, my paychecks are signed by the Kroger owned company Fred Meyer, a Northwestern… Continue

I have looked on the internet at several different franchises. I have received information on Beaner's. My wife and I have made a trip to Charleston to visit one of the Beaner's. For the amount of start up cost, I did not feel it was worth it.

I want something moderately priced. In the event it does not go well here in town I will not loose everything I have.
I am open to any suggestions. I want to start up and grow if possible.

Hi back! Sounds like you are in the right area of the country for specialty coffee. The Southeast is lagging way behind!
