If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I've been working as a barista and I love everything about it. My love for coffee developed at a young age. It was the drink of grown ups, forbidden and tempting. Of course as I got older and as I would spend most of my young life in cafes with friends, I began to sample what this marvelous beverage had to offer.
The origins of coffee and how it has shaped the course of history and nations mesmerized me. I began learning all I could. Investing in countless publications, searching the web for complete understanding. As I searched and researched and read (and continue to read) I soon understood that coffee is a beast that is ever changing with the time, environment and people who place their love and care into it.
I have supervised, managed, trained at many a cafe but never have I found enthusiasts of this life passion like those who I met at ABC Bellisimo. The joy I got from being around so many skilled and clever individuals was life changing. Upon my return from my week long course in the cold but warm hearted city of Portland, I dove head first into the world of home roasting. Sending my roasts to a collection of trusted friends who have a passion for all things fabulous but who are also honest, I knew they would help me on my way to achieving what I most so desire. Unlocking the wonderful potential out of every bean I lay my hands upon and sharing thatfine crafted beverage with the world, or at least my small corner.
So here I am, a girl on a mission. Embarking on a quest to go out into the world and see how coffee is created from the ground to the cup. I want to speak with fellow enthusiasts, go to the trade shows, get my certification in all things coffee...and come back, open my own store and share that with who ever will let me. I'm a dork but a loyalist to the drink that has given me so much.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
I lived in Japan while I was in high school. Went there for a year as an exchange student. Amazing experience and a time I will cherish always.
I have also traveled to Europe for a few months back packing. I went to Greece, Italy, France, England, Ireland and Scotland. Ask me about my experiences there anytime. As I went on my own I know how to navigate and make friends quickly.
About Me:
Aside from roasting I perform at renaissance faires. I love the thrill of improv. The show is always changing and I, the performer am always on to entertain!
About My Company:
More on that when it comes about. My logo has been created, locations are being researched and paper work for the early stages are getting done. As of now I am in research mode.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The friends and cherished memories it has provided and will keep providing me.
