barista, coffee shop owner, home barista, coffee enthusiast, entrepreneur
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
Upper Peninsula, way up North.
How many years have you been in the industry?
3-4
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I have been trained by Madison's Ancora Coffee Roasters in the preparation of espresso based drinks and coffee origins, as well as have received preparation guidance from the consultants at Upper Midwest Gourmet in Minneapolis, MN. I took part in the operation of 5th & Elm Coffeehouse for approximately two years where I also created all of our available in-house baked goods.
About Me:
I was born and raised in Southern California, and over the past four years have been getting delightfully aquatinted with the glorious, and very arctic Keweenaw Peninsula. We can talk about "me" later. :-D
About My Company:
Omphale Gallery and Cafe is projected to open sometime before this year's Summer season; May-June. Omphale Gallery was operated by Julie DePaul Johnson and many other volunteers as a not-for-profit art gallery for about 17 years. Julie and I have been working together to recreate the space from it's original essence, while also introducing speciality coffee, teas, vegetarian and health-conscious foods, and a space for minds to collaborate and expand.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I love how coffee brings people together; Not just together around the coffee table, but together around the globe. Call me cheezy, but I'm all about the people coming together.
WOW! really? yooper coffee? I got my roots in coffee planted deep by dead river in Marquette waaaayyy back in the day. Where are you guys opening up at?
ummm.... the Keweenaw? Or am I just silly for thinking whenever anyone says upper peninsula they are referring to Michigan's own little slice of heaven?
