If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I started in a tiny coffee-shop in my hometown in high school, and never really left the business. I later worked for Dunn Bros. That's when my passion for coffee really took off. The complexity and personality of all things coffee and the world they create consumed me. I managed an Italian Espresso Bar in downtown Stillwater for many years and am currently a barista and manager at Killer ESP in Alexandria, VA. It has been a big adventure for me to constantly expand my barista knowledge as well as learning management and leadership skills. I love working closely with business owners and other industry professionals. I am also planning my own business during this exciting learning process.
About Me:
I live a very simple life with a lot of flavor. I love being a barista, spending time with God, and playing outdoors. I am a proud mother and wife. I love kayaking and frisbee and spending time with people that I love.
About My Company:
Killer ESP is a gelato and espresso bar located in Old Town Alexandria. We serve Stumptown coffee and homemade gelato. Our shop also features sweet and savory pies, emapanadas, gluten free pastries and traditional breakfast pastries.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Katy,
We do not offer a class specific to espresso machine maintenance but can certainly offer any assistance to the level of our knowledge so feel free to contact me with any questions. I have a couple of info sheets regarding espresso machine cleaning if want to take a look. They are probably what you have already researched but none the same, let me know if you want me to email you a copy. Send me an email at Kevin@uppermidwestgourmet.com if you want them.
Thanks, I will take you up on the visit, just need to find the time!!

Thanks!! Whenever you want to come to St. Louis, let me know! We are probably going to be hosting the midwest regional barista competition in late Oct. early Nov. That would be a great event to attend and learn from.
