Oh man, I cant recommend it enough! I've learned more on the quest in 3 weeks than my hottop in 7 months. It's a dream to control! It so easy to control a roast on a quest. The hottop is like a giant ship, and the quest is a speed boat(with breaks). There are couple things you should know going in that will save you some time. One is the new quests are slight tilted backwards, so in order to get a correct bean temp reading, you need to tilt it forward, ice been putting a towel under the back. Second is read the home barista thread about ambient temp probe placement. I have mine between the drums, on the top right.

Also be aware that you can burn your house down with the quest if you have no idea, what your doing. The hottop has safety features which prevent that. You also can ruining your heating element is a quest, where the hottop wont let you do that.

Just thought it would be responsible of me to give you the flip side as well. Have you ever roasted coffee? You should have an idea of what you are doing before purchasing the quest. Im not a roasting god by any means, but a do have a basic understanding of roasting, and how to control the quest.

Well if you truly have a solid concept of roasting or someone to guide you, and youve read everything you possibly could find about the quest, then you should definitely get one. Easily worth the price.
