I am a micro-batch artisan coffee roaster. I dig coffee, espresso and the whole roasting process. I am a fanatic, which means I stay up reading the latest in coffee and practicing my mad latte art and espresso technique. I offer espresso technique training, as well as roasting training.

About Me:
Name's Ty. Not Tie or Tye-Dye or Thai food or Tie your shoes. Just straight up Ty. I am the General Manager and Roast Master of Vintage Coffee Roasting. I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world and have a little baby girl who looks like her mom. I love my life. I enjoy jamming on my ole six string and listening to NPR, Tears for Fears and reading books way past my reading level. I am a level 15 geek and don't mind saying "Frak" once in awhile.
About My Company:
Vintage Coffee Roasting is SW Washington's best kept secret. We are a roaster who cares about the coffee and the people. We aren't lost in trying to make a profit but rather trying to be the best in our field. We are still small but aspire to play with the big dogs one day. But we never want to become a super production roaster. We want to focus on the art of coffee.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Easy......Coffee......My blood type is Coffee....

Where are you roasting in The Couve? I lived there for 10 years and miss it more every day. YES, I even miss the rain. I will take it any day over the heat and humidity I endure in the ATL. Ciao!

    Hi Ty,

I´m new on the barista exchange platform and come from Hamburg/Germany. I`ve been in Portland, Seatlle and Vancouver-BC this January/February and felt like home because of the rain :-) Unfornunately I have not visited Vancouver-WA, sorry. You mentioned in a comment an few weeks ago that you roast on a Diedrich. I intend to buy a IR-12 for a new shop in Hamburg. We have two shops and roast our coffee in a small hot air roaster. Perhaps you can give me your opinion to the Diedrich mashines.

    regards,
    Sven
