Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I own a very small roasting company with plans for a coffee bar in the works. My roasting experience trumps my barista expereience, but I know my way around a coffee bar.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Central America is on the short list of future trips. I'd love to find my way into and around Guatemala, el salvador and Honduras. Seattle is constantly calling my name, as is L.A.
About Me:
I've been roasting for about 5 years if you add up all the time put in on a roaster between jobs. I worked for about two years under two different roasters at two different companies; and nearly three years now on my own. I started Velo Coffee Roasters in April 2010. I've worked here and there as a barista, and love it, but my passion within specialty coffee is roasting.
About My Company:
Velo Coffee is a very small roasting company focusing much of its efforts on education within Chattanooga, TN. We deliver nearly all of our coffee by bicycle. We roast on a U.S. Roaster Corp. 5k and experiement on a USRC sample machine.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The sheer amount of knowledge to be attained.
