Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I work as a volunteer barista at Calvin's Coffeehouse on FSU's campus. I've been pulling shots since Spring and still really enjoy it. We are a donations-based shop and serve coffee that is Fair Trade certified. People often come in to relax, study, chat, watch TV, use the free wi-fi, or warm up by the fire on those rare, cold days. It's pretty awesome begin able to meet and serve all of the random people who come into the shop.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Europe! That'd be my country of choice. Then, to follow, there's South & Central American, and Australia. I would like to visit Maine, go back to Colorado, and stay a little longer in Washington to check out the music & coffee scenes.
About Me:
Well, my barista ambition differs from my actual profession. I am a senior in college, and will graduate in May 2010 with my B.S. in English Education. I want to teach, but I think I might take a detour through grad school first. I don't know where - but most likely I'll continue my education in Florida.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
It's always changing, always growing - BUT, you still can come back to your favorite place, favorite drink, favorite people.
